Hi Melissa! Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm so glad you're writing a book!I've completed two and both times didn't title it until the very end, and both times had three different titles before settling on what I liked. My first book, The Ethos started out as From the Lines of Pythias...but that was too long. Then it was Silhouette which sounded like a romance novel. Then I chose The Ethos because that's what the whole story is about. I worried that it was a little bland, but it was unique. We ended up keeping it.My second book started out as Valium. But I think that's a registered trademark so I changed it to Volition. But I still didn't feel like it was there, so I now call it Fragility which I *love* but realize it might be too hard of a word for some people, but not for the brilliant rest of us, right? I like this title cuz it has a dual meaning: my main character's relationship with her sadistic ex-husband and the state of the Inhuman. I also feel like it has a good connotation/mood. Titles are HARD. My favorite title ever is The Forest of Hands and Teeth. That was a good book.Wow. I never comment this long. Sorry! I'm interested in hearing about what you're writing!
Thank you for this!! I feel better about the whole thing. :-)
I've never written a book, so I'm no authority. But, I would wait until you have more of your story written. Plus, I think once you get a publisher, they could help you come up with a title.
