Question of the day

Why do we sing "Rock a bye baby" to lull a baby to sleep when the song is about putting your baby in a tree and letting the wind crash the cradle on the ground?

    I have sung that song to my girls and grandson and I always think the same thing. Wonder what the little ones think!

    I know! of Humpty Dumpty and the nursery story of hansel and gretle. So terrible to share with children but they have great illustrations. :-D

    I've wondered that as well. What are they really thinking when we sing a song like this to them. Probably that we are nuts!
