Every notice that your first impression is almost always wrong? I was just thinking the other day about a really good friend of mine and how my first impression of him was totally wrong. I mean way off! Just by apperance I jumped to the solid conclusion that he was arrogant and someone I deffinatley did not want to spend more than 5 mins. with. I was wrong. We've been good friends for years!
It seems that we meet someone for the first time and immediately make a judgment in our heads about who they are and what kind of person they are. It's like that saying "Never judge a book by its cover." This is very true with people. Even though the cover seems to have a little wear and tear, does not mean that the book isn't worth reading.
What was your wrong first impression?

My fault is that I usually try to see the good in people first. I've never judged anyone by their cover. Hell, I wouldn't have any friends if they did that to me. :)
ReplyDeleteI usually get kicked in the teeth tho, for not seeing the bad in some people right off.
Dazee,
ReplyDeleteI have this problem also. :-D
great topic for a blog!
ReplyDeletesometimes first impressions may seem wrong but then eventually down the line they turn out to be right...always sucks when that happens!
Hi Melissa,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post on my blog. I like the intro in your blog.
I've also thought I was wrong about my first impressions. Later on I sometimes realize my first impression was right, they are self-centered, or stubborn, but by then I love them anyways.
I'd have to say that more times that not, your gut reaction or "first impression" of someone is usually correct! But its always a great day when you find out that the cover just held back something amazing and unexpected!
ReplyDeleteI have had a couple where they were completely wrong.
ReplyDeleteI have had wrong impressions in every aspect of my life--picking up a new book, meeting a new person, my first car (loved it, then hated it) seeing a house I didn't want to buy (I bought it later). I'm the queen of wrong first impressions. Need to work on that.
ReplyDeleteNice blog! Thanks for commenting on mine too!
I have a friend who is gorgeous...so gorgeous you just assume she is a b*tch. I actually told her that if I did not know her I would hate her. She is however more gorgeous on the inside than the outside. I {heart} her and glad I did not let my first impression taint me and ruin a great friendship!
ReplyDeleteHey Melissa. I've awarded you with the versatile blogger award. You can come pick it up off my blog. Have a great day :)
