Mmmm....This making anyone else hungry?

Baked Mac and Cheese

There isn't much to be said....but lots to be eaten.
I've learned the the secret to amazing homemade Mac and Cheese is a crispy top that hides a smooth creamy bottom. I'm salivating!

Hello Lover! Thank you for making my life complete.

There is something so comforting about this dish. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my mom made it for lunch so many times for us kids when we were growing up.
This dish brings back so many memories. Once the combination of cheese, noodle and crunchy goodness hits my taste buds, I'm sent into a world that's fun an carefree.
Remember those days? Good times.

What is your comfort food?

  1. OH MY GOSH THAT LOOKS SOOOOO GOOD! I'm screaming! What did your mom put on the top? When I make it at home, I just sprinkle cheese on top then bake. I'd love to know! It's official, I'll fixate on this dish until I make it.

  2. That looks so good. It's a comfort if it's made at home (and by someone other than me :))

  3. Julie,

It was usually cheese. But now we make it with different kinds of cheese sprinkled on top and shredded chicken covered in BBQ sauce. SO GOOD!!!

  7. i love mac and cheese. and thankfully so do my kids. they hardly know what the boxed kind is since i make it from scratch (though probably not near as tasty as your yummy goodness photos).

but my ultimate comfort food is chocolate. oh and ice cream. oh and dill pickle flavored potato chips. oh and pizza. oh and five guys french fries. oh and bang bang shrimp. oh and...oh boy...i think i've got a problem. that probably explains all that extra weight i've been carrying around...

  10. Yum- this looks amazing! My mom makes something called 'cowboy mac and cheese' that's your basic baked m&c + different colored peppers + jalepenos. It's AMAZING. I made it a bunch of times in college and it was a big hit :)
